Wellbeing at work

GRS prioritises the health and wellbeing of our workforce, especially in the wake of the 2020 Covid pandemic which took its toll on people’s physical and mental health. This led to the launch of ‘Let’s Talk’, a wide-ranging initiative to overturn the stigma of mental health issues, partnering with leading charities and putting in place a whole raft of measures under the umbrella concept that “it’s okay to be not okay”. Such was the positive impact of ‘Let’s Talk’ that GRS went on to win the Construction News Award for Health, Safety & Wellbeing in 2023.

‘Let’s Talk’ has since been expanded to other health issues, with a series of campaigns covering themes like diet, exercise, alcohol, smoking, menopause and cancer. Each campaign is designed to engage and inspire employees to take action, get themselves checked out and seek help if required.

No Harm. Done.

At GRS, everyone – employees, contractors and visitors – has the RIGHT and the RESPONSIBILITY to ensure no harm is done to people, property and the environment.

Jon Fisher

CEO, GRS Group

The safety, health and wellbeing of our people and those we work with is paramount at GRS. Since 2018 we have been running an ongoing a behavioural health and safety campaign aimed at employees, contractors and others working alongside GRS – “No Harm. Done.”

The emphasis is that every person has both the right and the responsibility to ensure no harm is caused to people, property or the environment.

Five essential principles form the core of No Harm. Done:
01. Look after yourself

Safe working is your priority. Keep your eyes and ears open to the risks around you – and stay out of harm’s way.

02. Look out for each other

Don’t walk by if you see something unsafe – intervene and make sure people are ok and aware of the risks.

03. Say what you see

Report near misses and unsafe situations. Share your ideas and give praise when things are done exceptionally well.

04: Take your time

Think smart before you start. If it doesn’t feel right don’t do it, even when you’re under pressure to finish the job.

05. Believe in zero harm

Together we will achieve zero harm – nobody should settle for less.
