Road transport offers the greatest flexibility in moving bulk aggregates to where they are needed in construction, and removing waste material off site to where they can be recycled. Road transport is therefore a critical part of our logistics strategy.
The GRS transport fleet delivers reliable, efficient haulage through optimised routing to minimise mileage, emissions and journey time. Our in-house drivers are trained to the highest standards, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability and continuous improvement – and our extensive network of external haulage partners are held to the same standards. Our road transport activities are seamlessly integrated with our rail and marine operations, providing a fully connected, end-to-end logistics solution.
Driving Opportunities at GRS
GRS offers a range of driving opportunities across the UK, including employed HGV Class 1 roles, a dedicated apprenticeship scheme, and partnerships with independent contract hauliers.
We operate our own fleet delivering materials safely and sustainably to sites nationwide, with drivers playing a vital role in customer service and day-to-day operations. Employed drivers benefit from competitive pay, flexible working options, local routes and ongoing training and career development, including our established Master Driver apprenticeship scheme.
